02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity works to establish and develop a pipe band in Carnoustie and the local area. To fulfil this function, we encourage members of the local community to join us and participate in our activities. We have an active program of tuition, teaching the key skills and appreciation of pipe music and pipe band drumming. Our membership covers a wide section of the community, from primary school level to senior citizens. all are made welcome by us. Over the years, the pipe band has supported and played at community events, such as the local gala, Christmas illuminations, and Remembrance Day ceremonies--this has been much appreciated by the local community. We have also supported work, by other charitable organisations such as sponsored activities. In recent years, the pipe band has also participated in local pipe band competitions.
