02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Science 03 is a Caithness-based charity established to make science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) engaging and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. We organise the annual Caithness International Science Festival, providing free, fun and interactive learning experiences for local schools, families and the wider community. Working with scientists, engineers, educators, performers, visiting science centres and other organisations, we deliver workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, lectures and hands-on activities. Through these events, we encourage curiosity, inspire learning and future careers, showcase Caithness’s rich contribution to STEAM, and give people in our remote rural community access to high-quality educational experiences.
