Constitutional objectives

The Charitable Purposes of the Foundation ('the Charitable Purposes') are: (a) to relieve poverty by the promotion of sustainable livelihoods in developing countries by engaging rural communities in sustainable land-use projects and by enabling them to access international ecosystem service markets and partnership opportunities. and (b) to promote environmental protection and improvement through biodiversity conservation and the restoration, protection and management of forests and other terrestrial ecosystems for the benefit of communities worldwide and mankind in general. and (c) to advance education and enhance local capacity by the transfer of knowledge, technology, skills, resources and practices to developing countries so that natural and productive ecosystems can be improved. and (d) to advance research, understanding and awareness of climate change and environmental degradation and their ethical implications in both developing and developed countries, as well as remedial steps, mitigation strategies and adaptation measures.
