02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Support for other charitable bodies devoted to: (a) the saving of lives, (b) the advancement of the arts, heritage, training or science, (c) the advancement of youth through education, training and citizenship, (d) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage and (e) the promotion of health and wellbeing Preference given to smaller local charities based in Scotland or clearly defined Scottish projects of UK wide charities. To reflect the areas of interest of the original beneficiaries, the trustees favour projects focused on and benefiting the West, Central and North East of Scotland. Awards generally range between £1000 and £5000 although larger payments may be considered in special circumstances.
