02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our charity offers services to young adults with learning disabilities and autism We offer a peer mentoring service where young adults who do not have learning disabilities volunteer to attend activities with our young adults so that they are engaging with their peers. We also offer support for our volunteers for future employment opportunities in the care sector.

Constitutional objectives

The organisation’s purposes are: The provision of recreational activities and/or facilities with a view to improving the conditions of life for whom the facilities and/or activities are intended. This will be achieved by supporting natural friendships to develop with non-disabled Peers in the local community, accessing social and leisure interests, reducing isolation and improving life experiences and therefore more informed life choices. The advancement of health (including the prevention or relief of sickness, disease or human suffering). By way of positive social interaction and guidance provided by Peers, Fairway will help to reduce isolation, improve confidence and therefore reduce Mental Health issues
