02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To administer grants from the Trust to members of the local community, in line with the objectives and criteria set out in the constitution

Charitable purposes

  • the advancement of citizenship or community development
  • the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science
  • the advancement of public participation in sport
  • the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended
  • the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

Constitutional objectives

The Trustees shall hold and apply the sum of£ l paid by us to them. and such other funds and assets as may from time to time be comprised in the Trust Property, in trust for the following purposes: a) the relief of those on need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage, either generally or individually of people living within the Electoral Register area of Kilmichael Glassary by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities. b) The advancement of citizenship or community development by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities to individuals or community groups within the Electoral Register area of Kilmichael Glassary. c) The advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities to individuals or community groups within the Electoral Register area of Kilmichael Glassary. All projects as long as they are for charitable purposes and for the good of the community can be funded by trustees. d) The advancement of public participation in sport by making grants of money for providing or paying for items, services or facilities to individuals or community groups within the Electoral Register area of Kilmichael Glassary. e) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are intended by making grants of money to individuals or groups within the Electoral Register area of Kilmichael Glassary. Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes
