To safeguard and promote the interests of all residents and future residents within the Langlee area of Galashiels within the Scottish Borders on matters concerning housing and environment, and the social and community life of the area. to uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members of the community. the advancement of citizenship or community development. the provision of recreational facilities, and the promotion of equality and diversity.

Constitutional objectives

2.1. To safeguard and promote the interests of tenants and future applicants' needs within the Scottish Borders on matters concerning housing and environment, and the social and community life of the area. 2.2. To uphold equal opportunities and work towards good relations amongst all members of the community, specifically prohibiting any conduct, which discriminates or harasses on the grounds of race, religion, disability, political belief, sex or sexual orientation. 2.3. The advancement of citizenship or community development (including rural or urban regeneration and the promotion of civic responsibility, volunteering, the voluntary sector or the effectiveness or efficiency of charities). 2.4. The provision of recreational facilities, of the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, and only in relation to recreational facilities or activities which are 1) primarily intended for persons who have need of them by reason of their age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage or 2) available to members of the public at large or to male or female members of the public at large 2.5. The promotion of equality and diversity 2.6. Any other purpose that may reasonably be regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
