02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We grant aid to community projects within the community council areas of Abbey St Bathans, Bonkyl and Preston. Cranshaws, Ellemford and Longformacus: Duns. Gavinton, Fogo and Polwarth. In exceptional circumstances grants may be awarded to groups outside our catchment, providing there is clear evidence of a significant impact within our area. Such judgements are made at the discretion of the board.

Constitutional objectives

a) the advancement of community development within the environs of the Blackhill Wind Farm including but not limited to the Community Council areas of Abbey St Bathans, Preston & Bonkyl, Cranshaws, Ellemford & Longformacus, Duns and Gavinton, Fogo and Polwarth (the 'Blackhill Community') by providing funding for the regeneration, maintenance and improvement of the physical, social and economic infrastructure of the Blackhill Community, including the provision, maintenance and improvement of social, recreational, health, educational, cultural and environmental facilities within the Blackhill Community. (b) generally to do all such things as shall further these aims and objects.
