02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
St Mirren Youth Football Club were set up to help deliver & support the physical activity of young people, using football as the vehicle to drive & improve the health & wellbeing of over 250 young grassroots football players, from across Renfrewshire’s least advantaged, left behind, most deprived areas & beyond. The Club are a Scottish FA Quality Mark Partner Club and have been a Scottish Registered Charity for almost a decade. The Club deliver 26 evening coaching sessions and 19 weekend activities, on average per week to thirteen mixed sex, age-groups. The Club are working in partnership with Inchinnan Community Council and Inchinnan Development Trust to redevelop an historic greenspace, which has a heritage of almost a century as a manufacturing workforce’s playing fields, where a multitude of sports once thrived. The Youth football Club aims to encourage participation in and enjoyment ofScotland’s national sport - football.

Constitutional objectives
To encourage participation in and enjoyment of association football. To develop the skills of all participating players and officials. To develop the fitness of all participating players. To provide a positive, non-competitive environment to play development football. To provide a positive and competitive environment to play 11-a-side football. To promote sportsmanship and fair play in young footballers, officials and parents.
