02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Medasi Foundation is a charitable organisation established to provide educational scholarships. Each year, scholarships are awarded to students who apply through the foundation’s scholarship application process. The selection is based on criteria such as academic achievement and financial need. While the foundation typically supports students pursuing nursing or teacher training, exceptions are made for applicants with strong ties to Medasi’s educational projects, especially those who have been actively involved in the foundation’s work over time. Tuition fees are paid directly to the educational institutions on behalf of the students. Many scholarship recipients are known to the foundation through its school programs. The Foundation also coordinates educational projects aimed at improving student achievement and teaching practices, particularly in Science. These projects are international in scope, linking schools in Ghana with partner schools in Scotland.
