What the charity exists to do
1. University Talent Scholarship - This fund usually gives grants to one or two students of law studying at the University of Glasgow over a four year period. 2. Awards to Diploma Students - This fund usually pays out £1,000 to two students studying the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. In both cases the students are nominated by the university itself.

Constitutional objectives
To found or endow or assist in founding or endowing either permanently or temporarily from time to time as the Council for the time being of the said Faculty or a majority of their number may in their own absolute discretion determine any one or more Chair or Chairs Lectureship or Lectureships in or connected with the University of Glasgow on any subject of law or for the establishment and maintenance permanently or temporarily as aforesaid or tutorial classes one or more in connection with such Chairs or Lectureships or for the foundation or endowment, permanently or temporarily as aforesaid of one or more prizes, bursaries, scholarships or fellowships which may be named after me to be open to all who are or who have been students of law in the said University and who intend to follow the profession of the law or generally for any purpose having for its object the promotion or encouragement of the study of law or the benefit of those who are or have been students of law in the said University and intend to follow the profession of the law to enable them to pursue or extend their studies in law or to help them in their professional career for all or any of the purposes all as the council for the time being of the said faculty may from time to time determine
