02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To support the Town's Band, essentially a community asset, largely run and and otherwise supported by amateur (ie unpaid) brass musicians and percussionists, providing music for the people of the town and opportunity for players to play and develop within the Brass Band tradition

Constitutional objectives
The objects of the Band shall be to advance the arts (firstly) by promoting a wider interest in brass band music by giving instruction in brass band instruments and giving public performances and (secondly) by providing musical entertainment for the pleasure and enjoyment of the community of Galashiels and the surrounding area.
