02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
North Angus District Scout Council deliver its charitable purpose of supporting the development of our local young people through Scouting. We experienced growth in youth membership across most of the sections, alongside successful recruitment of new adult volunteers. Scouting is youth led and young people were actively involved in shaping their programmes and worked towards their top awards. The District made a positive contribution to the wider community through enviromental projects, fundraising and participation in local events such as Remembrance services. These achievements demonstrate our continued impact in building skills for life, promoting citizenship and creating opportunities for youg people across North Angus.
