02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We help unemployed and underemployed women in Scotland achieve economic independence by providing no-fee programmes, development tools and professional attire to help them thrive in work and life. Our clients are typically on low income, single parents, domestic abuse victims, New Scots and/or longer term unemployed. They are financially vulnerable. We are person-centred - our client is supported with her needs at the forefront of our service. As well as a styling service to help style our clients with work appropriate clothing to match their needs, our personal development programmes provide the tools to help them actively define their life and the direction they wish to take and include financial literacy, employability, and health and wellbeing. Dress for Success Scotland helps inspire women to shape their futures and make a positive change.
