4 The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: 4.1 to promote. and increase an awareness of environmental issues and an appreciation of the natural environment in both children and adults. 4.2 to advance. and seek opportunities to contribute to the 'sustainable development' of the local area and economy. Sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. 4.3 to promote green and sustainable lifestyles. 4.4 to promote. and encourage appropriate, non-damaging activity in the local environment. 4.5 to advance. and campaign on environmental issues.
