Constitutional objectives
(a) to promote and advance for the public benefit science, environmental protection and education, and, in particular, to promote marine conservation and improve knowledge and understanding in relation to marine conservation and sustainable fishing, through (without prejudice to the foregoing generality):- (i) the conduct or facilitation of research into the study of marine biodiversity, marine species and habitats, local marine life in St Abbs, conservation and related fields. (ii) the dissemination of the results of any such research. and (iii) the provision of education, information and advice, in particular to school and university students, by any means which is designed to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of marine conservation and related fields. and (b) to promote such similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions and in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit.The expressions 'charitable purpose' or 'charitable object' shall mean a charitable purpose under section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 which is also regarded as a charitable purpose in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts and a 'charitable institution' shall mean a body on the Scottish Charity Register which is also regarded as a charity in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts.
