02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Dovecot Foundation's objectives and governance arrangements are set out in its Articles of Association dated March 2010. The Dovecot Foundation's primary charitable purposes are: 1. The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture and in particular, visual art, craft and design in all its forms. 2. The advancement of education training and research and broader education in the development of individual capabilities, skills and understanding of art, craft and design. 3. The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture and advancement of education by preserving for the public at large and promoting the use of the bu8ilding known as 'the Dovecot' for public benefit and community use. The Dovecot Foundation has several cultural and educational objectives, and many of these are carried out by its subsidiary, Dovecot Studios Ltd.

The advancement of the arts, heritage and culture and advancement of education by preserving for the public at large and promoting the use of the building known as the Dovecot for the public benefit and community use.
