02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

To promote sport, wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle amongst the children & young people in the Perth & Kinross community through rugby. To introduce sport to people who have not shown previous interest and encourage them to develop & grow as individuals in a team environment. All development work in the community undertaken on behalf of Perthshire RFC is carried out by Perthshire Community Rugby Trust, which is the development branch of Perthshire RFC. We achieve these through: the School of Rugby at Bertha Park High School which has a dedicated community coach and strength & conditioning coach embedded. assisting the curriculum delivery of rugby for boys & girls and after school clubs at Perth Academy, Community School of Auchterarder and Craigclowan Prep school. deliver sessions at Perth Grammar, Perth Academy, Perth High School & St John’s Academy and run blocks at all the Primary School clusters in the area. The Development Team organise school holiday rugby camps.

Constitutional objectives

The Trustees shall hold and apply the sum of £1 paid by us to them, and such other funds and assets as may from time to time be comprised in the Trust Property, in trust for the purpose of advancing the participation in sport and physical education of pupils at schools and people up to and including the age of 25 residing in Perthshire, particularly in the game of rugby union football, without distinction of sex, race, nationality, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local statutory authorities, voluntary organizations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure-time occupations so that their conditions of life may be improved.
