02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to redevelop, regenerate and improve unused, underused or neglected areas within the park, working in partnership with local residents and the wider community to enhance the park’s appearance, accessibility, facilities and use for leisure, recreation and community activities. In addition to encourage community involvement in the planning, development, maintenance and improvement of the park, ensuring it remains a safe, welcoming, inclusive and attractive environment for all inhabitants of Coatbridge and the surrounding areas. To promote the park as a valued community asset that supports social interaction, physical activity, health and wellbeing, environmental improvements and a stronger sense of community pride and ownership.
