02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

CAYAG works in Coupar Angus providing activities and opportunities for young people and their families, particularly in relation to information, learning and socialising. Youth work staff build relationships with young people and provide support in relation to issue which affect young people in the modern world. We also ensure that staff and volunteers are kept up to date with new youth work developments for the ongoing benefit of young people.

Constitutional objectives

(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Coupar Angus and its environs without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, by associating the young people, adult residents, voluntary groups and Local Authority, in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for education, health , recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. (b) To run youth and community services in Coupar Angus and to co-operate with all interested bodies in the management of those services, for activities promoted by the Group in furtherance of the above objects or any of them. (c) To continue to positively encourage services for the girls and young women of Coupar Angus and its environs extending provision to the wider community in the town.
