02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purpose of the charity is to enable the provision of recreational and educational activities ,with the object of improving the conditions of life for whom such facilities or activities are primarily intended. The charity provides facilities for activities that address the promotion of physical and mental health, reduction of loneliness and isolation and communication of information. Such activities include Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Sound Bath, Self defence and Crafting. Children's parties and Baby showers are popular and the hall is used for meetings of local community members as well as being used as a Poling Centre. There are events in planning to celebrate the centenary of the hall this year. There is also planning to upgrade the rear garden to provide information boards for walkers of the Smugglers Trail passing through the village. The trustees continue to pursue possible funding sources in order to maintain the upkeep of the fabric of the building for future use.

Constitutional objectives
The company's objects are:- To promote the benefit of the people of Loans and its environs without distinction of sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provde facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interest of social welfare for the recreation and other leisure-time occupation so that conditons of life may be improved.
