Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Association shall be to support the emotional, educational, cultural, social, and health needs of African men and women resident in Central Scotland, thereby enhancing their quality of life and in furtherance thereof but not otherwise, the Association will seek to: - a) Progress and advance active citizenship and empower disadvantaged and excluded African groups' contribution to local community through promoting community cohesion, social inclusion and harmony among the diverse communities. b) Advance community learning and work as a means to promote and achieve social cohesion and active participation in civic society. c) Empower the local African community in their contribution to central Scotland achieving active citizenship and participation in civic society through educational initiatives helping to develop relevant skills for youth / women/ elderly/etc d) Advance and promote harmony and dialogue between local diverse community groups and the provision of recreational and educational initiatives to improve active participation and civic education. e) Advance and promote racial harmony, civil liberties and democratic active citizenship through interfaith work and community empowerment. f) Empower and help our members to achieving the benefits derived from the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS and keeping this Declaration constantly in their mind, by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms in order to secure their effective recognition and observance. g) Relieve the suffering and disadvantages of local African communities through community work and dialogue with local stakeholders. h) Promote, establish and operate other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the Africans and other excluded communities.
