02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The object of the charity is to raise funds for the work of Place of Restoration in South Africa and to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS issues there and in Scotland. Funds are used for children's therapy and educational needs. Fundraising events include coffee mornings, sales of crafts, and sale of Gift cards. Regular donations are acquired through a 'Pledge Scheme' which is sometimes promoted through visits to community and church groups.

Constitutional objectives

(a) To support and encourage the work of The Place of Restoration Trust in Margate South Africa in bringing relief to children in need and in caring for those who have been abandoned, abused or orphaned because of HIV/AIDS or poverty. (b) To raise awareness of HIV/AIDS issues in Scotland through informative and educational talks, presentations, and meetings with community groups. (c) To encourage and create opportunities, wherever possible, for the placement of volunteers who will receive training on HIV/AIDS and the care of HIV/AIDS sufferers at The Place of Restoration Trust in South Africa .
