02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
St Martins Community Resource Centre is set up to support the local community by providing accessible services, activities and facilities that promote wellbeing, reduce social isolation and improve quality of life for people living in the Dalry area and wider Edinburgh. We do this by operating a community resource centre that offers a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for individuals and groups. The charity provides practical support, information and signposting, and delivers community-based activities that respond to local needs. These activities encourage social connection, learning and participation, particularly for people who may be vulnerable or at risk of isolation. We work in partnership with local residents, volunteers and other organisations to ensure our services are relevant and accessible. Our activities are delivered by staff and volunteers and are funded through grants, donations and community-generated income.
