02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Smart Play Network is a Scotland-wide charity and membership organisation supporting children’s play and play practitioners. Activities include the operation of a toy library. community and family play sessions, including arts, crafts, sensory, outdoor and child-led play. Play Ranger sessions. and mobile play roadshows delivered across Scotland. We deliver play and early-years outreach sessions for children accompanied by parents/carers, as well as training, workshops and practical support for practitioners. Activities take place at our own premises, outdoors and at third-party venues including community centres, schools, nurseries and other community settings throughout Scotland. We also provide training, guidance, resources, consultancy and support to organisations and practitioners involved in children’s play, alongside the normal administration and management activities of our head office.

Constitutional objectives
This Article shall be interpreted as if it incorporated an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of Smart Play Network such that any actiVity which would otherwise be permitted by the terms of the Artide may be carried on only if that activity furthers a purpose which is regarded as charitable. SUbject to that overriding qualification Smart Play Network principal object is to establish, support and to aid in the establishment and support of play and other services including but not limited to toy libraries, free play services and services prOViding resources for play for the purpose of:-
