02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

St Aloysius’ College is a Jesuit school whose charitable purpose is the advancement of education and the development of children and young people. We provide education for pupils aged 3 to 18, enabling them to achieve their academic potential and develop as confident, responsible and compassionate members of society. Through a broad curriculum, co-curricular opportunities and high-quality pastoral care, we foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, leadership and personal wellbeing. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, we seek to educate the whole person and encourage pupils to use their talents in service of others and the wider community. The College supports community engagement through volunteering and charitable activities, works with schools supporting young people with additional support needs, and provides bursaries and other means-tested financial support to widen access to education.
