02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

In Cahootz is a community arts organisation based in Glasgow, dedicated to providing creative opportunities for marginalised communities. Our charity’s vision is to work with others to help build an empowered, creative and confident society. Our aim is to provide opportunities for marginalised people who have, for various reasons, found themselves excluded from society. We take a people-centred approach through regular consultation, leading to people-led events. Our process is organic, creative and great fun. This way of working gives participants the much-needed time to build confidence, find their voice to express their creative needs and to make real changes to their lives. Our activities are designed to foster connection, reduce isolation, and tackle trauma associated with poverty, by building with each participant a new self-confidence and a new sense of purpose.
