02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our vision is making skating-based activities inclusive, identifying barriers to participation, and providing solutions and pathways to inclusion. For example, when participants do not have an event or activities suitable to meet their needs then one is created for their specific needs. Following the event or activity, the Technical Rules and procedures are adapted, and the new adaptation becomes permanent and available for all. This development process is and remains dynamic and evolutionary to meet the additional needs of our community. We provide opportunities to those with additional needs to access skating activities. In 2012 there were no competition opportunities for skaters with additional needs in the UK. Now we have grown worldwide and the Inclusive Skating World Championships 2024 were held in Lee Valley, London in 2024 and includes a development program We are also an SQA Education Centre with approved coaching education and a Duke of Edinburgh Licensed Organisation.
