02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
West Lothian Community Foundation is set up to improve the health, wellbeing and life opportunities of people across West Lothian through sport, physical activity and community-based programmes. We focus particularly on children, young people and those facing barriers due to poverty, health, or social circumstances. We deliver inclusive football sessions, school-based programmes, holiday provision and targeted initiatives that support physical activity, mental wellbeing, confidence and social connection. Working in partnership with schools, local authorities and community organisations, we create accessible pathways into sport while using football as a tool to engage, educate and inspire. Our approach ensures no one is excluded due to financial or social barriers, helping individuals and communities to thrive.
