Constitutional objectives
The Academy will operate exclusively for charitable purposes, including (but not limited to): 3.1 The advancement of education in sacred music, through: 3.1.1 Professional tuition in voice, stringed instruments, organ, composition (accredited by Trinity Guild Hall School of Music and other official bodies). 3.1.2 The provision of training in choral singing and direction. 3.1.3 The operation of a choir (choirs) aimed at (but not restricted to) young people between the ages of 8 and 21. 3.1.4 The provision of workshops, and other forms of outreach. 3.2 The advancement of religion, through: 3.2.1. The development and performance of sacred works in both secular and religious settings. 3.2.2. The development of partnerships with churches of Christian denomination with the intention of enhancing their liturgical life, through the direction and performance of sacred music. 3.2.3. Raising the level of awareness, appreciation and understanding of sacred music amongst students and the general public. 3.2.4. Promotion of the theological and philosophical foundations of sacred music. 3.3 The promotion of citizenship, through: 3.3.1. The direct engagement of the Academy in charitable partnerships. 3.3.2. The engagement of Academy students in charitable activities (including, but not limited to, the raising of funds and involvement in works of mercy) for the relief of poverty and the saving of lives of vulnerable children and adults in the U.K. and abroad. 3.3.3. Raising awareness of the conditions of life of such people in the public square. 3.4 Advancement of the Arts/Culture, through: 3.4.1. The performance and promotion of sacred music, and the values inherent in sacred music, as a response to the departure of much of modern culture from the basic transcendental values, including oneness, goodness, truth and beauty. thus as a vehicle for the transformation of our culture. 3.5 Analogous charitable purposes.
