02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up in 2012 to provide a community organisation, facilities and a means of representing the local residents. Through the gift of National Lottery funding we created a new community centre where we provide activities, events, volunteering opportunities and a central meeting space for local people of all ages.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 To promote regeneration of the local area of Bellsmyre (hereafter referred to as the 'community')all for the benefit of the residents of the community without distinction as to their race, age, gender, religion, or political or other Opinions. 4.2 To provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time activities including sport to assist with the improvement of life in the community. 4.3 To advance citizenship and community development by increasing access and opportunities for the residents of the community. 4.4 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement through the improvement of the local area and the improvement of buildings and the development of open spaces. 4.5 to relieve poverty by providing local employability and training through the ongoing development of the community.
