02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Irvine Beat FM is a Community Radio Station based in Irvine and surrounding areas. The station is a Scottish registered charity (SCIO - SC042902) and is run and managed entirely by volunteers. We broadcast 24/7, 365 days of the year, on FM, online, on smart speakers and on an app. The station provides health and social education to the local area, which is listed within the lowest 15% on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation, by broadcasting health and well being related programming. The promotion of community-led events relating to health and well-being. Improved social awareness and interaction. The facilitation of discussion and the expression of opinion. the promotion and opportunities within the community. To encourage understanding of the diversity in our community. promotion of community-led events relating to health issues. Strengthening of links within the community.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 To advance in health by raising awareness in the local community of health and social issues, while providing entertainment to listeners. 4.2 To advance citizenship to residents of Redburn, Vineburgh, Springside and Castlepark areas of Irvine. 4.3 To relieve those most socially excluded. Irvine Beat FM will target volunteers and listeners from disadvantaged groups 4.4 To advance education through the provision of training in media and administration to local inhabitants
