Constitutional objectives
2 THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY (GROUP) ARE:- To promote equality and diversity in Midlothian by bringing people together across Midlothian communities of interest to learn about, and educate the wider public and community planners (e.g. Council, Health, Police, Voluntary Sector etc.) about local equality issues. To advance arts, heritage and culture in Midlothian by promoting cultural diversity in local Gala days held across Midlothian and using cultural activities to raise the visibility of, and welcome offered to communities of interest living in Midlothian such as LGBT communities and ethnic minority communities. To promote citizenship and community development within Midlothian by building relationships across communities of interest including older people, young people, disabled people, people from ethnic minorities, people from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities or people stigmatised by lack of income via collaborative events , joint training, research and presentations to community planners The advancement of education and related opportunities by offering local people training in participatory research methods, equalities issues, presentation and training skills on equalities issues.
