02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Edinburgh Brass Band is set up to provide the opportunity for people to advance their playing of music, particularly brass music and to support cultural activities within the local community. The band plays at local gala days and in the bandstands in local parks and at Christmas plays at community events and in local care homes. The band rehearses on a regular basis and welcomes players, when space is available, of varying abilities.

Constitutional objectives
To advance the education of people in music and in particular brass music and in furtherance thereof the Organisation shall seek: a) To facilitate the learning and playing of music, particularly that pertaining to brass. b) To participate actively and be an effective influence in the cultural activities within the community.c) To create a social em.1ronment for brass players within the Edinburgh area
