02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity aims to enhance public well-being by providing recreational facilities and organising activities to improve quality of life. It supports community development, urban and rural regeneration, and encourages civic responsibility, volunteerism, and the efficiency of other charities. Additionally, it promotes public participation in sports, particularly within the KA26 postcode area. The charity is establishing a community arts and leisure facility in Girvan, Ayrshire, which will include accommodation for community groups and a café/restaurant. It also provides financial and other support to organisations, initiatives, and events that further its goals of improving recreation, community engagement, civic duty, and sports involvement.

4.1 To assist in the provision of recreational facilities (and, where appropriate, the organisation of recreational activities) available to members of the public at large, with the object of improving their conditions of life. 4.2 To advance citizenship and community development (including urban and rural regeneration). 4.3 To promote civic responsibility, volunteering, the voluntary sector and the effectiveness and efficiency of charities. and 4.4 To advance public participation in sport. in particular within the area (?the Community?) shown outlined in red on the map attached to this constitution, primarily through (a) the establishment and operation of a community arts and leisure facility in Girvan, Ayrshire (incorporating accommodation for community groups and a café/restaurant) and (b) the provision of support (whether financial or otherwise) to a range of organisations, initiatives, activities and events which further one or more of the above purposes.
