02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We want girls across Scotland to have the space and opportunities they need to grow in confidence. Girguiding is so much more than an after school activity or a way for girls to spend an evening. We give girls their own space as we want all girls to benefit from opportunities to grow with being a part of girlguiding. Members love being in an all-girl group because it gives them space to be themselves, try new things and share what it is like growing up as a girl in today's world. At their weekly meetings they choose what they want to do with their friends. Girls love earning badges which show they have thrown themselves into a new sport, explored a new issue or a new skill. We give girls a voice for providing opportunities to spread out, make a difference and do things that will boost their CV. We empower girls to become leaders themselves and make their voices heard on issues that affect them.
