02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our stated aim is to be an evangelical church making disciples of Jesus through the ministry of the Word. We intend to further our stated objectives by focussing on mission and evangelism, team ministry and training pipelines for future church leaders in the years ahead. This may include the appointment of interns, the employment of further staff such as an assistant minister, and the reprioritisation of resources.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 The Church's objects are to maintain a congregation or congregations of Christian believers who hold that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the supreme authority and rule in matters of faith and life (declaring that, notwithstanding any provision of the Act or any other provision of the Articles, it shall not be competent to amend or vary this Article 4.1 or introduce any provision which is inconsistent herewith). 4.2 The Church takes the Westminster Confession of Faith as its subordinate standard for the purpose of stating what the Church believes the Bible to teach on the matters addressed in the Confession. 4.3 The charitable purposes and mission of the Church are 4.3.1 to advance the Christian religion for the public benefit by the support of Christian work and ministry, particularly in the evangelical reformed tradition, locally in Aberdeen and throughout the world through: 4.3.1.2 providing financial support for Christian ministry and mission 4.3.1.3 employing and supplying personnel to support the work of other Christian organisations. 4.3.1 .4 providing technical and practical resources to assist Christian churches and fellowships. maximum text reached, further full information can be obtained directly from the Charity
