What the charity exists to do

To act as an apolitical, non-profit, non-prescriptive body for the promotion of Okinawan traditional style of karate (IOGKF Goju-Ryu) throughout Scotland by the Advancement of Education, the Art, Heritage and Culture of Karate Advancement of Public Participation Provision and Organisation of Facilities

Constitutional objectives

Advancement of Education, the Art, Heritage and Culture of Karate To advance citizenship and community development, especially in young people, through instilling values such as integrity, dignity & respect, thereby developing and improving positive relationships within the wider community. To educate the membership, general public and other groups regarding the history, development and methods surrounding the practice of traditional karate and the associated health, moral and educational benefits. Advancement of Public Participation To encourage the promotion and public participation in the Traditional Martial Art of Goju-Ryu karate and in doing so be affiliated to and support the Scottish Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Association. To actively promote the benefits of the practice and study of traditional karate and associated disciplines. Where practicable, provide assistance and opportunities for all to enjoy the benefits and discipline obtained through regular training in IOGKF Goju-Ryu Karate. Provision and Organisation of Facilities Provide assets based on equal opportunity to assist in supporting high standards in the art. To encourage nationally recognised standards within the practice and study of traditional karate by facilitating and providing services and assistance for traditional karate-ka, thus empowering and supporting individuals, clubs and associations to continually strive for proficient standards through safe and competent practice.
