The organisation's purposes are: 1.The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by: 1.1 providing a Scottish network that encourages and enables Muslim women to participate more effectively in decision-making which affects them. 1.2 conducting, commissioning and participating in relevant research and consultations, and publishing and promoting the results. 1.3 the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of gender, race, religion or any other factors. 1.4 encouraging positive action to deal with historic discrimination and under-representation. and 1.5 advancing education and raising awareness of the need for greater equality and diversity, especially in relation to the role of Muslim women in society.
