02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The purpose of the charity is to provide accessible recreational and sports facilities and activities to support participation and performance in the local community. We do this by providing facilities, coaching and social activities for players and supporters.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 This Article 4.1 shall be interpreted as if it incorporated an over-riding qualification limiting the powers of the Club such that any activity which would otherwise be permitted by the terms of the Article may be carried on only if that activity furthers a purpose which is regarded as charitable. Subject to that overriding qualification the Club's principal objects are to :- 4.1.1 promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Edinburgh and various environs (the 'Community') without distinction of gender, sexuality, political and religious or other opinions by providing facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities , in the interest of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupation so that their conditions of life may be improved. and 4.1.2 promote for the benefit of members of the Community, community participation in healthy recreation by the provision and management of community facilities for playing sports.
