02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity is set up to support and provide services to the Deaf Community across Lanarkshire. We do this by providing an interpretering and translation service, a training centre for courses in BSL and Deaf Awareness, and a Drop-in Centre where they can receive support with Letters, Calls, Benefits, Housing and other necessary supports. We offer a small befriending service, a Weigh to Go Session and other therapies which the Deaf Community can take part in free of charge. We also provide a social space for Deaf Groups to meet, join and do activites as well as a weekly Deaf Club. We work with Statutory organisations, Third Sector Organisations and member of the Public to support their needs We provide our services to reduce isolation, lonliness and reduce poverty and access to services for the Deaf Community in areas of deprovation as per our contitution and charitable aims.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation is established for charitable purposes only, and in particular, the objects are: (i) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of relieving isolation and improving the conditions of life for the Deaf Community in Lanarkshire. (ii) The relief of those Members of the Lanarkshire Deaf Community in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
