02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our activities centre round the production of materials and training required to advance the learning of English by students and professionals in Myanmar at a level where they are able to read simplified materials in English. The aim is to provide books and methodologies for a Programme of Extensive Reading in Myanmar (MERP) for those who have some English but require much more exposure to the language if they are to be able to communicate adequately with the outside world.

Constitutional objectives
1. Trust purposes a. The Trustees shall hold and apply the sum of £1 paid by us to them and such other funds and assets as may from time to time be comprised in the Trust Property in trust for the following purposes:- i. The prevention or relief of poverty in developing countries through education other means. ii. The advancement of education in developing countries. iii. The advancement of religion through the support of Buddhist practice and activities as organised by monasteries or similar organisations, in accordance with the tenets of Buddhism, in Myanmar (Burma), the UK or elsewhere iv. The advancement of the Arts through the support of charitable Arts organisations in Scotland or elsewhere
