02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
i. To promote the relation between the Muslim community and statutory bodies and other voluntary organisations for the benefit of the society. ii. To promote religious/ racial harmony for the benefit of the public. iii. To advance the education of the Muslim community in the subjects of Arabic language and Islamic Studies iv. To advance the practice of the Islamic religion in East Kilbride for the benefit of the Muslim community through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebrations of religious festivals. v. To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment. vi. To relieve hardship, sickness and poor health amongst Muslim community in East Kilbride by the provision of advice and assistance, especially for elderly people. vii. To provide recreational facilities/activities for women and young people with the object of improving their condition of life.
