Metropolitan Community Church in Glasgow

Constitutional objectives

The Church shall be a constituent church body within Region 4 of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) and shall uphold the Statement of Faith and the Bylaws of the UFMCC. The church's objects are: a) The advancement of religion through the provision of Christian fellowship, worship, witness and service . b) The advancement of education through the provision of training events and seminars and the promotion of a greater understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. c) The promotion of religious harmony through advancing the understanding between people of faith with respect to issues of sexuality and gender. d) The promotion of equality and diversity through fostering a greater understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and people of faith within that community. e) The advancement of citizenship or community development through promoting the development of a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of faith . f) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, sexuality, gender identity or other disadvantage, through supporting the provision of programmes designed to alleviate such suffering.
