02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Provides a safe, welcoming, and confidential space for individuals, families, and carers navigating mental health challenges or difficult times. Peer-led support, social connection, and helping members access professional advice or services when needed. The Islay Health and Wellbeing Needs Assessment: We commissioned a comprehensive, 18-month research study evaluating local social care and health delivery. This report identified 12 key community priorities—including adult mental health, additional youth support, neurodiversity, and local dementia care—which guide the club's ongoing strategic campaigns and fundraising efforts to establish a permanent health and wellbeing hub on the island.

Constitutional objectives
To promote and advance the welfare of the public on Islay who are experiencing, have experienced or are at risk of experiencing mental health difficulties disabilities or impairment, to educate the wider community on mental health related issues and to provide facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation in the interest of social welfare to improve the participants lives and the lives of their carers.
