02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our mission is to relieve mental and emotional distress by increasing the availability of, and access to, high quality psychodynamic and psychoanalytic counselling & psychotherapy for all who need them. We do this by providing a training programme for counsellors and psychotherapists, running CPD and other courses, and providing a counselling service.

Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation’s purposes are: (a) Improving health and social care professionals’ understanding of, and ability to apply, psychodynamic ways of thinking, specifically by delivering: (i) A training escalator for professionals working with adults, children and young people. (ii) A post qualification CPD programme. (iii) Consultancy and supervision services for practitioners and organisations and (b) Reducing mental distress by delivering psychodynamic counselling and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to the public.
