02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We aim to provide an accessible facility (Community Hall) for the benefit of the residents in Duntocher. We provide or facilitate access to social interaction opportunities for all residents within the village of Duntocher. It is a venue for Out of School care for the 3 local primary schools. It is a venue for the local church (recently closed) to hold services as a Mission Church. We provide a meeting place for pensioners by offering a Sporting Memories Group and a Knit and Natter Group encouraging those with/without dementia to remain part of the community with social interaction with the wider community, these groups also provide a 'warm place' in the colder winter months with tea/coffee and snacks provided. We provide social nights for pensioners with a meal, drinks and entertainment, all free of charge. We are a donation point for the local foodbank, WDC Foodshare. The Village hall provides a venue for numerous family celebrations, exercise/dance classes and much more.
