Constitutional objectives
4 The organisation?s purposes are: 4.1 To advance health through improved early recognition and management of surgical critical illness by surgeons, trainees and other surgical health professionals, primarily in East and Central Africa, but also in other low income countries. 4.2 To advance education through teaching a specific set of programmes in surgical critical care that teach universal principles of structured thinking and early decision making when faced with critically ill patients due to major injury, after major elective surgery or with surgical sepsis, irrespective of health care infrastructure and facilities.
