02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are an evangelical church, made up of about 360-400 people meeting each Sunday at Wallace High School in Stirling, and through the week in other contexts. In addition, we support a variety of other organisations in Stirling and around the world.

Constitutional objectives

Purposes and Powers of the Church 2.1. The charitable purpose for which the Church is established as a legal entity is the advancement of the Christian religion in Scotland and elsewhere. 2.2. The Church will fulfil its charitable purpose by the maintenance in Stirling and the surrounding area of a body of Christian believers who adhere to the Basis of Faith and who engage in serving God through worship, discipling, pastoral care and outreach. 2.3. The Church shall be empowered to carry on any lawful activity in the pursuit of the purposes set out in Article 2.1. 2.4. The income and property of the Church 2.4.1. shall be applied solely towards promoting the Church’s objects. 2.4.2. shall not, except as provided in Article 17.3, be paid or transferred to any Guarantor or Elder. 2.4.3. shall, in the event of any surplus arising on winding up, be paid over to one or more bodies established for exclusively charitable purposes with objects similar to those of the Church.
