02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To reduce social isolation and improve the quality of life, health, well-being and independence of people in need by reason of age, ill-health or disability. To provide or organise recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. This is done by providing a regular lunch club in Beauly A large derelict allotment in Beauly has been turned into a flourishing and productive garden by a dedicated group of volunteers. Organising a weekly Walking group, with trained walk leaders, with up to 30 people attending. In the summer months there is an extra shorter walk From 2014 until 13/11/24 the Beauly Men's Shed has been part of Beauly and District Care Project. From that date it became a separate SCIO in it's own right A wheel chair accessible minibus to transport people who could not otherwise travel. Organise various extra social events, to concerts, places of interest , shopping trips.
