02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Charity is set up to reduce social isolation and improve the quality of life, health, well-being and independence of people in need by reason of age, ill health or disability. It does this by providing or organising recreational activities for older people in Beauly and District. There are regular lunches in a local Church hall for up to 40 people with musical entertainment, which people can join in with when appropriate. Transport is provided in a wheelchair accessible minibus for those who could not otherwise attend. The minibus is also used to bring Senior Citizens to their regular meetings and take them on outings. Other trips include shopping before Christmas, visits to concerts and theatres, and canal boat trips for example. There is a weekly walking group of up to 30 people in conjunction with Paths for All.
